Build an insight from a question
Turns a reporting question into a Report Builder insight, checked with a preview before it's saved.
Overview
Answer a question like "how many hours did we deliver per client last month?" with a saved Report Builder insight.
It shows you what it plans to change and waits for a clear yes before saving anything. It works through the Imploy MCP connection, so it only sees what your Imploy role can access.
Free to download and use.
What it does
- Restates your question as what to measure, how to group it and the date range.
- Picks the right data source and metric in Report Builder.
- Previews the numbers and gives you the answer in words.
- Saves the insight to the report space you choose, once you agree.
Example prompts
- How many hours did we deliver per client in the last 30 days? Save it to my Operations space.
- Show unpaid billing by client for this quarter.
- Make a metric of shifts with SCHADS warnings this month.
How to install
- Connect the Imploy MCP server to your AI app and sign in to your Imploy organisation. Ask your assistant to run whoami to check it can see the right organisation.
- Download imploy-insight-from-question.zip.
- Claude: go to Settings, then Capabilities, turn on Skills and upload the zip. In a Claude Project, paste the contents of SKILL.md into the project instructions instead. In Claude Code, copy the folder into ~/.claude/skills/.
- ChatGPT: in a custom GPT or a Project, paste the contents of SKILL.md into the instructions and connect the Imploy MCP server.
- Other MCP clients such as Cursor or Windsurf: add the contents of SKILL.md to your custom instructions or rules file.
